Auwalee's story

Auwalee is a local weaver whose husband is a farmer. She lives together with him, three children, a son-in-law, and a daughter-in-law in a rural village located in Surin province, Thailand. Her family is involved in different occupations to make a living, which include rice farming, company employment, laborer work, and a local building contracting business. For Auwalee, she mainly farms jasmine rice and weaves silk to supplement the family's income.

After years and years of operating a silk-weaving business, Auwalee has been able to generate a stable income that she primarily uses to cover living costs. This is Auwalee's second loan, which she plans to use to increase the production of silk woven products in order to meet the growing demand for silk products that she has been receiving from her customers. Auwalee believes this loan will allow her to reach another level of business growth and generate higher income, which she can use to improve her family's living standards. As a local silk weaver, her ultimate goal is to continue following her passion in this industry and preserve it as a traditional occupation within the community.

Therefore, Auwalee has applied for a loan to purchase a large quantity of silk cloth and color dyes, and other weaving materials needed.
