Erna's story

Erna is a resident of Baybay, Leyte. She is 38 years old, married and has one dependent. To earn an income, she runs a sari-sari (variety) store, selling basic commodities. She has been in this business for many years. Meanwhile, her husband works as a furniture installer to provide their family’s need.

Now she asks for a loan of PHP10, 000 through Kiva’s field partner CEV, (A Microfinance NGO) in the Philippines. She will use this loan to buy assorted grocery items like toiletries, snack foods, canned goods, noodles, eggs, spices and drinks.
