A loan helped to pay for materials ─ iron roofing, cement, bricks, sand, tiles, louvers, window screen ─ for apartment renovations.

Liliano's story

As the mother of six, her three youngest in school, 48-year-old Liliano wants what's best for her children. She's married to a school caretaker and the family of eight lives in their home 30 minutes outside of town in a rural community called Blacksands. For additional income for her family, she established little rental apartments on land she owns and rents out the rooms to those looking for places to live at affordable prices.

Wanting to be able to provide better living standards for her family, Liliano had her rental apartments built and is happy with how her business has helped her family since she started two years ago. Due to a rise in customer demand for living spaces, her apartments are now in need of renovations to keep up with rental standards.

Liliano is requesting a loan to pay for housing materials for renovations to her apartments. All income generated from her business will go towards household necessities, children's school fees and savings for the future.

This is her third loan with SPBD and with them she's been empowered to continue sustaining her business, as well as look after her family and provide them with a better future. Liliano thanks you for your support!

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
