A loan helped my salon business provide a better customer experience and add extra services for seniors.

Srey's story

My name is Srey. I am the third generation of Asian American.

In 1978, my family and I escaped from the Cambodian war, which nearly killed 3.42 million of my people. (If you would like to learn more, check out movies called killing fields). After days and nights of walking, we reached Thailand. They locate us in a refugee camp.

In 1984, my family and I came to America, bringing other challenges for my people. We can't read, write or speak English. People judge us differently, but there wasn't much at that time besides positive attitudes and survival skills. As I got older, it got complicated; 2 strokes and an iron loss nearly killed me, resulting in hearing loss.

In 2020, COVID-19 hits. My business had a significant impact due to a decrease in profit. Until now - I still need a chance to learn and opportunities to grow by meeting different people and understanding their paths. I learn to love what I do best for my clients and respect their space. No matter what obstacles we face, we treat everyone with the value of kindness.

This loan is special because:

It supports a small business owner with 0%-interest, zero-fee capital.
