A loan helped to start a sustainable chicken and pig raising business.

Plinio's story

Meet Plinio!

He lives in the rural community of Tamarindo in east Panama, a region that has been historically excluded from basic financial services. Plinio is a hardworking man known in his community for his responsibility. He has worked in agriculture all his life and has been planning on starting a chicken and pig microenterprise.

Plinio is applying for his first Kiva loan to star a small chicken and pig microenterprise. With the funds, he will build a chicken coop and buy a round of chicks and piglets. With the revenue generated from the chicken and pork sales, he wants to further support his family.

Thank you for being part of financial inclusion in regions that have been historically excluded from basic financial services.
