A loan helped to pay for a new sewing machine.

Vaitiare's story

Young and determined, Vaitiare is a mother to a 5 year old kindergartener. Her partner is a bus driver and the family lives in a village on the eastern side of Efate which is a 20 minute drive to town. Vaitiare is 23 years old and currently runs her own boutique at her residence to earn a living.

Inspired by her mother who is also a seamstress, Vaitiare started her business 3 years ago to help support her family. Her dream is to build a standardized boutique that will serve the clothing needs of customers within Efate and other islands of Vanuatu. Her current plan is to increase the amount of product she creates daily in order to pay for a new sewing machine. However, she needs financial assistance to carry out her plan.

Vaitiare is requesting a loan to pay for a new sewing machine and a bulk of fabric which she will use to create more fashionable outfits for her customers. With the income earned, she will pay for her household necessities, settle her child's school fees, and save money to invest in her future business plans.

Through this loan Vaitiare has felt empowered to grow her business and help improve her family's living conditions. Thank you for lending to support Vaitiare!

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
