'Uluaki's story

Greetings from 'Uluaki. She is married to a farmer, and they have one child. On Saturday of every week, 'Uluaki joins a group of women in her village to make tapas together. They make tapa of different types and sizes, some are made from pure soft tapa, which is more expensive, and some are made from soft tapas and tapa-paper, which is less expensive. Tapa are cloth made from plant fiber and are part of their traditions. Tapas are used on every occasion, either celebration or mourning. 'Uluaki has overseas relatives and she sends most of her tapas for export.

'Uluaki is requesting a loan to buy mulberry to continue operating her business making tapas. She will also export some of her finished tapas overseas to sell.
