A loan helped to add stock to his business.

Godfrey's story

Meet Godfrey, a refugee father to 5 children who all attend school and stay with him in Moyo, which is in the West Nile region of Uganda.

In the beginning, life was very hard, and he could not imagine that he would be what he is today.

He grows Millet, Sorghum, and Beans. This is mainly for home consumption and a little is for sale.

Besides farming, his principal economic activity is trade, and he has a shop that sells primarily home consumption goods. The demand for goods is high, and he has many customers. His sales are limited due to the limited stock.

He would like to add more stock so that he can boost his sales and pay school fees. His dream is to build a permanent house to offer his family better accommodations.

He is forever grateful for the support that VisionFund and Kiva have given him.

This loan is special because:

It helps refugees in Uganda rebuild and sustain their livelihoods.
