A loan helped to purchase four additional buffaloes for farming purposes.

Dung's story

Ms. Dung is 34 years old with two children attending school. Her family belongs to an ethnic minority and resides in Ngoc Lac district, an isolated community. Her husband works as a manual laborer. Her life is deeply rooted in her ethnic minority community, where self-sufficiency and hard work are highly valued. As a mother and wife, she is driven by the desire to provide for her family and secure a better future for her children.

To ensure self-sufficiency and generate income, Ms. Dung engages in a range of agricultural activities. She cultivates rice and vegetables, providing nutritious food for her family and surplus for sale. Additionally, she raises poultry and cattle, diversifying their income sources and contributing to the overall well-being of their family.

Recognizing the potential for increased income and improved livelihood, Ms. Dung decided to take this 4th loan from Thanh Hoa MFI to purchase four additional buffaloes for farming purposes. This strategic decision aims to expand their cattle farming activities, increase their agricultural productivity, and subsequently enhance their income by selling their buffaloes to the middlemen in the future.

The buffaloes not only provide additional sources of income through the sale and offspring, but also provide organic fertilizer for her farm.
