A loan helped to purchase motorcycle machines and clothes.


Jenifer's story

Jenifer N. is 20 years old and lives in the town of Nansana just outside of Kampala. She is married and has three children, one of whom is currently in school. Jenifer has a motorcycle(motor bike for transporting people) business, which she has run for three years. She also has a second business in selling clothes.

To help expand her business, Jenifer has requested a loan of 200,000 UGX from Kiva partner, BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase motorcycle machines and clothes. With the help of the loan from BRAC, Jenifer hopes to generate greater profits and pay school fees. In the future, she hopes to own a retail shop. Jenifer is a member of BRAC’s Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program, which has helped her prospects for the future by assisting her in improving her business.
