A loan helped sowing coffee.

Maryuri Eunice's story

Mrs Maryuri S. is from the Comarca San Luis in Esteli. She is married and does not yet have children. She is 28, a farmer, and also works as a merchant in a small store that she owns. At the young age of seven years, she started helping her parents with the housework, and also helped her mother to prepare products such as: rosquillas [a type of donut], nactamales and cajetas. They prepared these foods to sell and make a bit of an income. Her parents later helped her to sell clothing, shoes and food, even though she was studying. However, she had to abandon her studies for health reasons. She says that she has always been a hard-working person who never gives up, so she decided to work with her father, sowing coffee. This has provided her with good earnings to keep working. She is taking out this loan to purchase tools for sowing coffee, to improve the quality of her product. Part of her next products will be to open a store and keep increasing her coffee production.
