A loan helped to purchase more Vita, red oil, sugar, milk, and other items to sell.

Cecelia's story

Meet 51-year-old Cecelia from Liberia. She is married with two children. Both of her children are currently attending school while living at home. She never had the opportunity to attend school.

She owns a business where she sells Vita, red oil, sugar, milk, and other items. She has no problem with her sales. She requested this loan from BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner, to purchase more Vita, red oil, sugar, milk, and other items to sell to her good clients.

She likes her business because it makes her an independent woman. Her future plan is to build a shop and continue sending her children to school. She says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
