A loan helped to purchase more clothes and other items to sell.

Namah's story

Meet 38-year-old Namah, from Liberia. She is living together with her partner and a mother of 3 children. She attended school up to 12th grade. She runs a retail business selling clothes and other items. She started the business with some financial help from her mother and learned how to sell from her friend. She sells Monday through Saturday and uses car to transport supplies at her business site. She has been in this line of business for 15 years now. Namah requested this loan from Brac and a kiva lending partner to purchase more clothes and other items to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it gives her money on a daily basis. She says thanks and gives appreciation to Brac and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
