A loan helped to purchase more red oil to sell.

Felecia's story

Meet 21-year-old Felecia, from Liberia. She is single and the mother of two children. She attended school up to the 2nd grade.

She runs a retail business selling red oil. She started the business with some financial help from her mother and learned how to sell from her friend. She sells Monday through Saturday and uses a car to transport supplies at her business site. She has been in this line of business for 15 years now.

Felecia requested this loan from BRAC and its lending partner, Kiva, to purchase more red oil to sell to her good clients.

She likes her business because it gives her money on a daily basis. She says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
