A loan helped to buy firewood and quintals of corn.

Maria Estanislao's story

María is a 43-year-old woman who gets up early every day to make tortillas by hand. She has been making and selling tortillas for a long time, taking advantage of the fact that demand for them is high. The work generates the income that enables her to get her children ahead.

She is currently seeking a loan from Kiva through MiCrédito to buy firewood and quintals of corn. She will use these basic materials to increase production and make a better income, which will have a positive impact on her loved ones' lives.

María hopes to open a used clothing business in the coming years.
