A loan helped to purchase enough patterns of clothes for making new dresses.

Rhodah's story

Rhodah is 30 years old and lives in the town of Gayaza in the Gayaza region of Uganda. She has one child.

For the past 2 years, Rhodah has been working hard to manage her tailoring business in which she sews clothes for sale.

To help her to expand her business, Rhodah has requested a loan of 700,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase enough patterns of clothes for making new dresses which will help Rhodah to generate greater profits and improve her family's standard of living by providing them enough food.

Rhodah hopes that, in the future, she will be able to expand her business into a bigger shop and to build a house.

Rhodah is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Rhodah who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
