A loan helped to buy feed and medicine for chickens.

Lourdes Monserrate's story

Lourdes Monserrate, 39, is in a common-law relationship and has two children, ages 18 and 14. Her husband's a day laborer. They live in San Clemente, a place of beautiful beaches with a varied cuisine, a beautiful place to visit any season of the year.

She's a woman who looks for ways to earn her income and, that way, help her family get ahead.

She works raising chickens. She raises the chickens at her home until they reach an appropriate weight, then sells them to neighbors in the area and merchants who go to her house to buy from her and then take them to other cities or the local market. That's how, little by little, she's improving her life and her family's.

She's going to use this loan to buy feed and medicine for chickens.
