Munhtuya's story

Munhtuya N. is young lady who lives on her own with her sibling. Her parents own 200 livestock and live as a herders in the countryside in Uvs province in western Mongolia. Her sibling attends a college, majoring in carpentry.

Munhtuya operates a hair salon in a rented room of an apartment with the help of her aunt. She started to work as a hairdresser in 2009 after graduating from Ulaangom college as a hairdresser. She and her aunt recently opened their salon in a rented space and therefore they need to remodel and decorate to their workplace. For the future, she hopes to have her own hair salon.

Munhtuya is hardworking woman and says, "In order to open (a) big, professional hair salon, I need to work very hard at least five to six years." She is requesting a 300,000 Mongolian tugriks loan to purchase necessary equipment and tools for her hair salon.
