A loan helped to support Evans to buy more materials such as timber to boost his sales.

Evans's story

Evans, a 48-year-old carpenter based in Litein, Kenya, is seeking a loan of KES 30,000. Evans is married and supports eight children, including one in college, three in high school, three in primary school, and one still young.

Evans takes pride in his carpentry business, which consists of two workshops, where he employs five young men who assist him. The loan he is seeking will be utilized to expand his workshop and increase his timber inventory thereby boosting his sales and working capital. One of Evans' main challenges is the scarcity of timber, but with the loan, he can easily overcome this hurdle and ensure a steady supply of raw materials.

In addition to providing employment opportunities to local youth, Evans also contributes to the wider community by sourcing his timber locally, supporting local suppliers, and producing quality furniture. He envisions a future where he owns a wholesale workshop, supplying furniture to institutions, and creating more employment opportunities for the community.

The loan will play a crucial role in helping Evans achieve these aspirations by providing him with the necessary funds to expand his business operations and increase his profitability.
