A loan helped to invest in another bulk purchase of yarn.

Raquel's story

Raquel (pictured at left), who works alongside her husband, Gregor (pictured at right), is an artisan who specializes in alpaca accessories. Her last loan is nearly paid off, and she would like to invest in another bulk purchase of yarn.

Raquel has been selling through NOVICA since 2006. This is her story:

Raquel and her husband Gregor are dedicated to preserving Peruvian textile traditions. "What draws us to weaving is the opportunity to work with natural fibers by rescuing ancient Inca weaving techniques. We love to see the transformation of loose yarns into garments and accessories. We help an Andean community by employing weavers on traditional looms who then help us finish each piece by hand."

"I thank all of you for this support as well as my loyal customers. Together you allow us to continue to meet our goals and develop as a business."
