Sary's story

Sary, 19, is a married woman, living in Angkor Borei district, Takeo Province. She is a conscientious garment worker, earning in the vicinity of USD 6 each day. She has been doing this for almost 3 years. This career provides all of her family’s income. She aspires to achieve financial stability and provide her children with comfortable living conditions. Her spouse helps her in earning more income by working as a construction worker.



Because of a shortage in her finances, she has applied for a loan in the amount of KHR 8,000,000 to pay for the construction of a household latrine. This fund can encourage her to purchase construction supplies as well as pay for labor costs. This latrine is very useful for her family members because it prevents the spread of various diseases, they can live a more dignified life, is clean and comfortable, creates a suitable place for bathing, allows them to participate in social sanitation, and there will be no mud around the house. She aims to purchase more land for agricultural purposes and open a small grocery store to earn additional income. She sends her thanks to all lenders for helping her family.
