A loan helped a member to buy more innovative products.

San Antonio Group's story

Wendy is thirty-one years old, with ten years of formal education and a professional stylist course. She is married to a mechanic and is the mother of three children, (over 10 years old). They all study in primary and secondary school.

Four years ago, she started to sell jewellery, clothes and personal use catalogue products online. Wendy also does customized makeup jobs.

She wants to increase her business inventory to make more income, so that she can secure herself for old age. She is applying for her first Kiva loan to buy more products.

Seven women, Spanish speakers, they live in the department/state of San Marcos. They have gone to a lot of effort to maintain their businesses in clothes sales, the sale of personal use catalogue products, meat sales, (pork and chicken) and the sewing of cloths.

Aswell as access to this loan, Wendy and her other colleagues have learned a lot about how to run their businesses during monthly educational training which is a part of the “Micredito Plus” programme of “Puente de Amistad”.

Thanks to the interest of the Kiva lenders, women such as Wendy have access to small loans, training for their empowerment and basic health services.

Thank you!
