A loan helped to buy pigs.

Sally's story

Meet Sally, a refugee, single mother to 10 children who all are school going. They stay in Yumbe in the West Nile region of Uganda. Life has been very hard for this mother, but she chooses not to give up, but continue working hard to provide for the family. She is a farmer who grows millet, sorghum, maize, and SimSim. Besides this, she also rears pigs. Through this she provides a few basic needs to the children.

She would like to buy pigs so that she is able to sell the piglets since she has many people who buy them within the community.

Her dream is to start a pork-eating joint, where she believes she will be able to make more profits, since the demand is high. She will also be able to sell the raw meat.

Today she has also ventured into goat rearing and she is also selling pork meat. Slowly she is realizing her dreams. Without the support of VisionFund and Kiva all this would not have been possible to be achieved. She is forever grateful.
