A loan helped to buy fabrics.

Delish's story

Meet Delish, a refugee single mother to a child who is still young and not in school. She, however, has three orphan dependents that she is looking after, and they all attend school. She is a farmer who grows millet, sorghum, maize and sweet potatoes. Besides this, she also has a sewing machine, and her service is in high demand.

Each day, she is striving to be a better person than she was years back, and she is also learning to make various styles. She has attracted many customers. She would like to buy variety of fabrics so that she is able to make school uniforms, dresses and shirts. With this in place, she will be able to offer her family a better life and pay school fees. Her dream is to start training other women in the community to sew.

Many women are learning from her, and they benefit from that. She is very grateful for all the support that VisionFund and Kiva have given her.
