A loan helped to add stock to the business.

Suzan's story

Suzan is the refugee mother to 4 children who all are school going. They are in Moyo which is the west Nile region of Uganda. Despite of whatever she has gone through, she choose not to give up, but instead has worked as hard as she can so as not to be in a hopeless situation. Today she is a farmer as well as a stall owner.

As a farmer, she grows sorghum, maize and beans. However, her farm production is mainly consumed at home and leaves very little to sell. So, besides the farming, she has a stall in the market where she sells variety of goods.

She has many customers, but her sales are limited and much lower than she would wish due to the limited stock. She would like to buy variety of goods to add to the shop.

With this loan in place, she will be able to sell more, pay school fees and offer her family a better life.

She is forever grateful for all the support that VisionFund and Kiva has given her.

This loan is special because:

It helps refugees in Uganda rebuild and sustain their livelihoods.
