Jareerat's story

Jareerat is a married woman who resides in a Khmer community located in Surin province, Thailand, with her parents, husband, older brother, and two school-aged children. Basically, her family earns income through agricultural activities and operates a grocery store business.

In 2021, Jareerat took her second loan with Kiva to improve her business, and she successfully achieved her goals with this loan. For over a year, her business has continued to grow, motivating her to reinvest in it once again. She aims to increase her working capital and expand the range of items available in her grocery store.

This grocery store has been operating since 2002. Jareerat offers a wide range of items to her customers, including snacks, beverages, eggs, rice, personal care products, household items, and more. Additionally, she provides affordable dolls to fulfil the customers' needs. With a wide selection of products, Jareerat is able to attract a larger customer base and establish a loyal clientele for her shop.

As a result, Jareerat has applied for her third loan with Kiva. This loan will be used to purchase additional items, restock her inventory, buy fibre for doll products, and fulfil the requirements of her customers. She is optimistic that this loan will provide continued support for her business, enabling her to generate a stable income.

This income will help improve her family's living standards and ensure that all her children can complete their higher education.
