A loan helped to buy dry food to sell.

Beatrice's story

Beatrice is a refugee mother to six children who all are school age and live in Yumbe in the West Nile region of Uganda. She says that despite what life has thrown at her, she chooses not to sit down and give up.

She is a farmer who grows millet, sorghum, beans, maize, and sweet potatoes. She is able to provide a few basic needs for her family and also sell some of the produce within the community where she lives.

Last season she planted a variety of food, but the season was not very good, and she got a very small yield. She has very many customers, but the stock is very limited.

She would like to buy dry food to sell so that she is able to make more sales and pay school fees. Her dream still is to build a permanent house.

She is very sure that whatever she has ever dreamt about, she will be able to achieve because of the wonderful support of VisionFund and Kiva and she is very glad.
