A loan helped to buy farm inputs.

Charity's story

Charity lives in Kibatsi, Rwamabaondo with her husband and three children, all of whom attend school.

Most people in this area are farmers and Charity works hard to earn a living by growing bananas and selling matooke, a banana-based food staple in this part of the world. She previously got a loan to improve her banana plantation and was very happy to see her yield increased.

But since that time there has been an outbreak of banana wilt, which affected her plants, most of which she had to uproot. Charity is seeking this loan to mulch her plantation so she can restore her crop. She offers her thanks to Kiva lenders for their generosity and support.

This loan is special because:

It helps rural farmers to increase productivity and their income.
