A loan helped to purchase a good smoker, warmers, and a tent to meet the demand at large events and festivals.

Jerome's story

For 20 years, I worked for famous restaurants in the Pittsburgh area and around the world, including the Duquesne Club, The Ritz Carlton, and the Esca, a Mario Batali Restaurant. I was the executive chef in these restaurants, which meant that I implemented and created daily menus, restocked and ordered new supplies, and managed the entire kitchen staff, among other duties. I moved back to Pittsburgh to marry the love of my life, Carolyn, a celebrity wedding & event planner and attorney with a Ph.D. in Ministry. We have seven children in our blended family, ages 14 to 30. We are proud grandparents of 4 at this time.

Together, my wife and I have opened a few restaurants in Beaver County near Pittsburgh: Rosalee’s Southern Comfort Cuisine Seafood & BBQ Restaurant and Cafe Rosa. We serve gluten-free, scratch kitchen and farm-to-table vegetables, fresh meat and seafood. At our restaurant, Grammy-winning musicians entertained guests during Jazz Supper Nights and we hosted unique special events like lobster and clam bakes, fashion shows and weddings. The facility offered a golf driving range, baseball batting cages and an outdoor courtyard with a large stage for performances in the summer and an indoor room for fall and winter performances. My food and her expert event planning are a match made in heaven. Unfortunately, both are now closed due to the pandemic, but we have continued Rosalee’s via catering and sales at festivals. Although we no longer have this large venue, we both continue to cook up a storm!
