A loan helped valau to help her husband with their plantation needs and also purchase more pandanus for her weaving business.

Valau's story

Her name is Valau, and she is a mother of seven, a grandmother of five, and a wife of a farmer.

Valau and her husband with their two youngest sons run their family business of growing crops. She herself also takes care of her own business of weaving, which she started only a few years back.

She weaves her own taovala and mats, but most of the time, she pays women to conduct her weaving for her when she is busy with their plantation.

She sells out her taovala and mats to her relatives overseas, while she helps her husband by selling out their crops at the local market, and also along the main road.

With this loan, she will be able to help her husband with their plantation needs like ploughing, harvesting and fertilizer, and also purchase herself the amount of pandanus she needs for her weaving.

This loan is special because:

It helps proven female entrepreneurs grow their businesses and create jobs.
