A loan helped increase her stock by buying more clothes and shoes to meet customer demand.

Agness's story

Agness is a 20-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her parents in the Isoka district in Zambia. She sells clothes.

She is requesting a Kiva loan to increase her stock by buying more clothes and shoes to meet her customers' demands. She plans to use the profits she earns to provide for her family's needs and re-invest in the business.

She will repay the 'social interest' on her loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide. This involves facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school and helping to build their self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.

This loan is special because:

It is a 0% interest loan for young women with new businesses.
