Queen's story

Queen is a 22-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her two children in the Isoka district in Zambia. She sells rice. She is requesting a Kiva loan to expand her business by buying more bags of rice to meet her customers' demand. She plans to use the profit she earns to take her children to school and re-invest in the business.

She will repay the 'social interest' on her loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide, facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build their self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.
