A loan helped a family owned dessert and espresso bar hire a pastry chef to revamp their gf menu and offerings.

Joe's story

Being a single parent for about 8 years, I was constaintly seeking a way to create something of my own. In 2018, creating a dessert company was an idea, however my personal dietary restrictions made me seek healthier alternatives and niche markets for yummy treats. Being an RN and health coach I knew of many healthier and delicious recipes for desserts.

So the recipe development began. PCD started in a small kitchen in the back of a gift shop, and we started seeking alternatives to grow. Our market was largely catering and events, with a few in store features. After researching several different locations, during covid a coffee shop space in historic Park City open up and we moved in and opened in two days. The coffee ideas had been “brewing” with coffee truck concepts aside from PCD, however the rise of a global pandemic allowed new opportunities to pop up. Alas the coffee was added and we grew fast. In 2022, unfortunately our building location was purchased, and we were giving a 2 weeks to leave in September. After a few months of searching, we have now developed a partnership with Lespris Property Managment a subsidiary of Western Trust. This group currently manages and owns Treasure Mountain Inn in HIstoric Park City, and we revamped an unused kitchen and coffee window on the property. We were also recently invited to visit their Jackson Hole location, and plan to open our second location there soon!

I love making people happy (especially in tourist markets) with desserts and coffee have a little something for everyone. (Even those who can't eat gluten!) This loan will help give us jump start with the talent we need to keep our little biz going!
