A loan helped to buy balanced feed to improve her chickens' health and development.

Josselyn Janeth's story

Josselyn is 22 years old and lives with her parents and siblings. Two years ago they used to live in a very distant community called Guanibela, and now they live in the Cahuasqui parish in the Urcuquí canton of the Imbabura province, which is located in the north of Ecuador.

Josselyn works in farming along with her family, growing beans, and she works as a cattle ranch day laborer, and also to keep having more income, she decided to start working raising chickens too. For this reason, she is requesting a loan for chicken feed and for maintenance of the beans.

Josselyn would be very grateful to Kiva for this new help with the loan because that helps her continue with her farm work and yield a good product and sell it at a good price and keep helping with her family's income.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Julie Arenson.

This loan is special because:

It finances farmers' secondary income generating business.
