A loan helped a member to buy Bralima and Brasimba drinks, increasing her initial capital.

Mikeno Group's story

Madam Ukwishaka is a client of the micro-finance institution Hekima and chairs the village group "Mikeno": she is married, 37 years old and has two children who are both in school, while her partner is a trader.

She is a beverage seller in a relay warehouse, having started this business two years ago with start-up funds received from her husband.

Later, she participated in the Hekima program to support her business, during which she gradually developed.

With this new loan, she is going to buy beverages by Bralima and Brasimba [local brewing companies], increasing her initial capital.

The challenge for her business is the lack of customers.

She would like her children to continue their studies and to feed her family.

Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for supporting business owners without access to credit, in the context of the global crisis related to Covid-19.

The photo is of the group leader alone, because of Covid-19 and in respect of social distancing measures.

In this group: Fidele, Liberata, Bisengimana, Ukwishaka, Sebahinzi
