A loan helped a member to buy more clothes to diversify and improve her inventory.

Estrellas Del Mar Group's story

Mary is a young woman who has been working from a young age in order to support her family. She sells clothes at the local market. Mary has several dreams, one of which is to have her own store and a truck for carrying merchandise. Being a single woman, she feels that she has more to accomplish and create.

Mary and a group of friends she knows who also sell at the market formed the Communal Bank “Estrellas del Mar”. She was elected president because of her problem-solving skills and the strength of her leadership.

The objective of this group is to obtain operating capital to improve their product offerings at the market. In Mary’s case, she will diversify her inventory of clothes. With this goal in mind, the members approached Sembrar Sartawi to receive advice and the necessary financing to complete this task.

In this group: Aurora, Mary, Ana, Reyna Monica, Richard Edwin, Lourdes , Mary Mar, Yerson, Maria De Los Angeles
