A loan helped a Delaware-based skincare line scale production for summer sales season.

Lisa's story

Hi, I’m Lisa. I’m a natural cosmetics manufacturer and owner of The Butter Project based in Camden, DE. This year I’ve been fortunate to participate in The Launcher Program, a small business advisory and mentorship program sponsored by NCALL. This experience has connected me with people and resources that are helping me grow as a small business owner. Those opportunities include invitations to participate in large-scale vendor events. I am so excited and honored to be invited, but I’m also concerned my current inventory is lacking. I’m asking for a loan to purchase equipment, raw materials, packaging, and promotional materials for my vending booth to prepare for these events.

As someone who has skin sensitivities, it’s important to me to have easy access to natural skincare products. After a lot of research and courses in natural cosmetics formulation, I’ve created a line of cleansers and moisturizers I’m excited to introduce to our local markets. Being able to offer easily accessible, natural skincare is very fulfilling. Knowing something I created benefits others is both satisfying and humbling.

To be able to best represent my brand and The Launcher Program at these upcoming events, I will have to increase my current inventory to meet the projected demand of 300 – 1,000 annual attendees per venue. Some of my products have longer lead times, so I must plan well in advance. With the help of Kiva, I will be able to meet my production goals and take my brand to the next level!

This loan is special because:

It supports a small business owner with 0%-interest, zero-fee capital.
