A loan helped to buy vegetables and connect small farmers with the market.

Estevão's story

Estevão is a 65-year-old, hard-working businessman. He lives in Tsangano, Mozambique. He buys and sells agricultural surpluses such as corn, beans, onions, cabbage, cucumbers,

Estevao already had the opportunity to participate in a business training offered by IDE. He learned techniques to improve his business management and expand his client portfolio, most of which are small local farmers. He buys agricultural surplus from them.

He intends to increase the volume of agricultural surpluses and reach more small farmers. To achieve this goal, he is applying for another Kiva loan so he can better respond to the growing demand.

He is sure that investing in his business is providing better living conditions for the many small farmers in his community who do business with agricultural surpluses.

This loan is special because:

It allows farmers access to new markets and agricultural resources.
