A loan helped a member to buy goats for animal sales business.


Shamshad's Group's story

Shamshad is a very supportive lady. She always supports her family in every way possible. Besides performing her responsibilities of a housewife, she also gives required time to her clothes sewing business. She sews clothes to support her family in fulfilling the basic needs of life. Besides her business, she is also a very caring mother. She is raising her 5 children very well.

Her husband is a daily wage laborer but also runs his animal sales business which helps him to make extra income. He buys animals from the animal markets at cheap rates, raises them and sells them to the required customers at a good profit. He has been doing this business for the past seven years and has a good knowledge of animal breeds.

Shamshad has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah to improve her husband’s business. With the loan, he will buy some goats for reselling. She is hopeful that through the loan investment, her husband will be able to make good profits, which she will use for the education of her children. She is a regular loan user of Asasah and this is her 3rd loan application. She is a responsible client who has always paid her installments on time in every loan year.

She comes from a city called Khanewal and lives there in a 2-room brick house with her family. Khanewal is a small city located in Punjab province of Pakistan and famous for its agriculture industry.
