A loan helped to buy seeds, disinfectants, fertilizer, compost, and other agricultural supplies.

Lilia Esperanza's story

The support from Banco VisionFund Ecuador gave Lilia, a humble woman from the countryside, the way to manage to keep her crops a float during the hard rainy season that afflicted her region. She got her plants to produce fruit that she sold.

She was able to recover what she invested and some of the earnings in spite of these tests. They have weighed on her, but she has not been discouraged about her work. She knows that many time you earn and other times you lose. However, you always have to stay firm. Therefore, she is once again starting her 'naranjilla' [a tropical perennial fruit-bearing plant from northwestern South America] crop.

This business activity requires financial help to buy seeds, disinfectants, fertilizer, compost, and other agricultural supplies. These will allow her to keep her plants free of pest infestation and other animals that eat the leaf, which damages the leaf and the fruit.
