A loan helped to buy quarrying equipment.

Korina's story

Korina is a refugee mother to five children. She is a farmer who grows millet, maize, beans, and sorghum. Besides this, she also sells stones for building. All her children are school going and stay with her in Moyo. Through these activities she provides a few basic needs for the family.

She would like to buy a machine that cuts the stones, and this will enable her to sell more, since she will not have to use her hands. With this in place, she will be able to boost her sales, employ people to work in the quarry and her dream is to build houses for rent.

Today she is a very happy woman, because her life has changed for the better. She is very glad for all the support that VisionFund and Kiva have given her.

This loan is special because:

It helps refugees in Uganda rebuild and sustain their livelihoods.
