A loan helped to build a house for her family.

Cecilia Sellene's story

Meet Cecilia Sellene!

She is a hard-working woman that is dedicated to baby-sitting kids in her community and also raising pigs, working from her dad's house. Cecilia Sellene lives in an rural indigenous community in West Panama.

Cecilia Sellene is very committed to her family and works very hard to provide a better education for them.

Cecilia Sellene was given a chance to build a small house next to her father's home, so she is applying for her first Kiva loan to build a house for her family. This is her opportunity to become independent and build a home to provide a brighter future for her family.

In this photo, she is in her father's house, as the house she wants to build but it's still in a very early stage of construction.

Thank you for supporting the women in rural Panama!

This loan is special because:

It empowers the most vulnerable women in Central America by extending access to financial services.
