A loan helped to buy agricultural inputs, such as certified seeds and fertilizers, for resale.

Emilio's story

Emilio is a 64-year-old man. He lives with his family in Angonia, Mozambique.

Emilio is a visionary man with an entrepreneurial spirit. He buys and sells agricultural inputs, such as certified seeds, fertilizers and herbicides, for small local farmers to improve production.

He recently had the opportunity to benefit from IDE's business and financial literacy training. He learned how to attract more customers, as well as negotiate better prices. Recently by applying this knowledge, the number of customers has grown significantly. Now he intends to increase the volume of agricultural inputs to better meet his customers' needs.

Emilio is applying for his second Kiva loan to buy more fertilizers and herbicides to better meet the demand for agricultural inputs and help small farmers improve the quality of their production. He has a plan to diversify and increase the volume of products he sells in his store to better satisfy the needs of each customer.
