A loan helped a member to buy chickens to sell in her store.

Sabathwa Group's story

Ntombiyesipho Nester is 55 years old and single with 4 children, between 18 and 30 years old, and 1 dependent. She runs a live stock chicken shop in Empangeni in South Africa. In the photo above, she is standing on the left wearing a gold sweater.

She's been in this business for two years and sells chickens at a general store. She also earns income from an old age pension. She says that the main challenges to her business are the deaths of chickens.

She requested this loan through Women's Development Businesses to buy live stock chickens to sell in her store. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her to pay her previous loan, add more stock, earn profit and save more of her money. In the future, she would like to see the growth of her business and have more employees.
