These women belong to the banc villageois that was set up in December, 2017. The group is made up of women who all have small trading businesses. They are very supportive of each other. Coumba is 59 years old. She is married and has seven children.
She sews and sells clothes for a living. She’s asking for a loan to buy 5 pieces of wax fabric and 2 packets of veil, and to pay for labour to sew and then sell the merchandise. Her shop is in her house where she also stores her merchandise. She’s had this business for five years. The profit made will be used to support her family and to add to her savings.
