A loan helped a member to buy some plastic shoes, which will strengthen her initial capital.

Flexible Group's story

Madame Christine is a client of Hekima IMF and chairs the FLEXIBLE village group. She is 60 years old, a widow, and the mother of 7 children, all of whom are in school.

She sells plastic shoes. She started this business 10 years ago with start-up funds she received from her husband. Later she became involved with the Hekima program to support her business, which has grown gradually since then.

With this new loan Madame Christine will purchase some plastic shoes, which will strengthen her initial capital. The challenge to her business is linked to the closure of supply routes due to insecurity.

She would like her children to conitnue their education and to feed her family. Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they have provided to owners of businesses that have no cash value during this global Covid-19 crisis. The photo is only that of the group's leader on account of the the social distancing measures implemented due to Covid-19.

In this group: Esperance, Christine, Chantal, Zihalirwa, Muhindo
