A loan helped a member to buy bananas to strengthen her initial capital.

Nia Moja Group's story

Madame Sangi is a member of Hekima and head of the village group NIA MOJA. She is 29 years old, married and the mother of 3 children who all attend school. Her partner is unemployed.

She sells food products. She began her business 5 years ago with the startup funds from her husband. Later, she joined the Hekima program to suport her business, which has evolved progressively since then. With this new loan, she will buy bananas to strengthen her initial capital. The challenge of her business is linked to delayed deliveries.

She would like to feed her family and her children to continue studying. She wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for supporting owners of non-redeemable businesses during this global crisis linked to COVID-19. Sangi is the only one in the photo due to social distancing measures.
