My mother is who inspired me. My mom had a warm, vibrant, outgoing personality. She also was a very independent and strategic woman. Growing up, she did her best to give me the most promising future. Being born in Bridgeport & raised In Greenwich, my background was very different. I always stood out from my peers no matter what the demographics were.
Being raised by just my mother alone molded me to be self-sufficient. My mom was always the leader and the giver in most situations she was involved in, which inspired me to be just like her. I started as a CNA and then went for my nursing license. As time passed, and I was developing, my mom was getting sicker and sicker. I wanted financial freedom, but it just didn't seem tangible. In March 2021, my mom was admitted to Greenwich hospital and never came back home.
All I could think about was trying to find a way to be free from my corporate work duties to support my mom with my undivided attention. Every day I would visit her how I usually do, reminiscing over the times she would harass me to do her eyelashes or bring her to the nail salon. Until one day, I mentioned a business plan, a spa I said to her. She was weak, but she turned her head and gave me the biggest smile as she nodded YES.
On July 22nd, 2021, I lost my best friend, mentor, business partner, my mom. I knew I had to turn my pain into my passion because that's the kind of woman my mom raised me to be. 07/30/21, I was granted my LLC for my business, naming it DTM Day Spa, Dedicated to My Mom.

Very early in my career, I realized I loved making people feel and look better. My mother's recent passing inspired me to launch the Dedicated to Mom Day spa in July 2021. The services I provide are inspired by things my mother and I loved to do together while growing up, with a little unique spin of my own.
The purpose of this spa is to make customers feel like their best selves without having to break the bank or travel to a new state for an authentic experience. When lending internationally, the local currency in a borrower's country may lose some of its value compared to the US dollar -- requiring the partner to use more of its local currency to repay Kiva in USD. We offer some Lending Partners the option to protect themselves against currency fluctuations by choosing to pass on these losses to Kiva lenders. By bearing this risk, lenders protect the partner and its borrowers from catastrophic currency devaluations and contribute to the sustainability of their operations.
Potential for currency exchange loss is noted on every loan profile under the loan details:
"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
"Partial" means that the Lending Partner has opted to cover losses only up to 10%. If the U.S. dollar appreciates more than 10% against the local currency, those losses will be passed onto lenders.
"No" means that the Lending Partner is not covering any currency losses and all losses will be passed onto lenders.
