Because of my specific dietary needs, it was hard to go out to eat without feeling disheartened by my choices. I love crafted fun, and interesting food - hard to find when I had to avoid gluten and dairy! I decided to offer better options to my community in hopes of supporting those following specialized diets. A place they can go to enjoy a cupcake, a cookie, and all the desserts in between without feeling like a side note. We also offer fantastic coffee with homemade syrups to continue the crafted and dietary-conscious method I offer in my bakery.
I believe part of the experience of going out to eat should be enjoyable, relaxing, and fun! I aim to offer that in my space through the people I employ, down to the locally sourced maple syrup used in our famous doughnuts. We love making people happy.
What is the purpose of this loan?
I have the opportunity to expand my space into an adjoining space that would allow for more seating opportunities, more relaxing space, and more meeting space. I look forward to offering more evening hours with specialized dessert menus to help our community cap off date night or offer something to do for young folks who need an outlet for gathering (without alcohol). With this expanded space I can reach more customers and allow them to stay and make more of an experience out of their visit.

We offer some Lending Partners the option to protect themselves against currency fluctuations by choosing to pass on these losses to Kiva lenders. By bearing this risk, lenders protect the partner and its borrowers from catastrophic currency devaluations and contribute to the sustainability of their operations.
Potential for currency exchange loss is noted on every loan profile under the loan details:
"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
"Partial" means that the Lending Partner has opted to cover losses only up to 10%. If the U.S. dollar appreciates more than 10% against the local currency, those losses will be passed onto lenders.
