A loan helped to purchase weaving materials for weaving baskets, hats and clothes for sale.

Mwanaache's story

Mwanaache is a widowed woman with three children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are school fees, food and hospital bills.

For over five years, she has operated a weaving business selling house mats, hats and clothes to tourists visiting her area of operation. Mwanaache faces a major challenge of seasonality. During the months of April and May, few tourists visit the country, hence less income, while during the months of November and December, the season is high because of the high number of tourists visiting the country, hence high numbers of customers which increases her income. She hopes to establish a grocery shop and open a retail shop in the future.

With the Kshs 40,000 she wants to purchase weaving materials for weaving baskets, hats and clothes for sale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to start a business and improve her living standards.
